On Friday, March 12, Alpha Rho is hosting a Rose Alumni Dinner for Deltasig Alumni. It will be held at the Boulderado Hotel in Boulder at 6:30 PM, and the program will include a speaker. Alpha Rho is hoping to have a good representation from the Denver Alumni Chapter. The cost is FREE. The Denver Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is participating in the HopeLine Community Service Project. Between now and February 25, we are collecting old cellphones, batteries, chargers, and other cellphone accessories. HopeLine, through Verizon Wireless, benefits domestic violence agencies and organizations nationwide. The Denver Alumni Chapter and other Deltasig Chapters throughout the Western Province are participating in this project.
Please mark your calendar for Thursday, February 18, when the Alpha Nu Chapter at University of Denver will be hosting a bowling event for Denver Alumni in conjunction with a fund raiser. It will be held at the Crown Lanes at 2325 South Federal Blvd beginning at 7:00 PM. More details to follow. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know the Alpha Nu Chapter and have fun bowling with other Deltasigs.
On Thursday, February 4, the Denver Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi will be honoring our spouses, significant others, family and others who support our activities as Deltasigs. We recognize that without the support of these special people, we wouldn't be able to stay active. Spouse and guests are welcome and invited. Members without a spouse or a guest are encouraged to attend to help us celebrate. We did something like this last year, and everyone had a nice time and enjoyed the meal.

Community Service Project Update

The cost of a college education continues to rise. According to a 2008 article from CollegeBoard, the average price tag for a private four-year college is $25,143 per year and $6,585 per year for a public four-year college. Many students would never be able to afford a college education without scholarships, grants, student loans, and other forms of assistance.
Deltasigs from the Region will be celebrating National Alumni Day with the “Deltasig Olympics” on Saturday, April 25 on the campus of University of Denver. The day will include collegiate chapters in Colorado competing against each other in various events hosted by the Alpha Nu Chapter.
The 47th Grand Chapter Congress will be held in Washington, D.C. August 11-15. So far, the following Denver Alumni Chapter members are registered for the Congress: Greg Howell, Laura Howell, Sandy Shoemaker, Vince Shoemaker, Jeff Rodine, Jim Pendergrass, and Sherry Powers Gabor. Additionally, eight undergraduate Deltasigs from Colorado Chapters are registered.
